LEAGUE HACK FORMAT GAME

All participants must bring their own laptop/notebook computer. Each laptop/notebook computer needs to be registered (we will place a sticker on it) during registration for security precautions.

  1. Player, Team and Grouping
    • Each team consist of 3 players
    • Each group consist of 5 teams
    • Total of 40 teams, 8 groups, 120 players

  2. Matches
    1. 2.1 Group Stage

      • Each team will compete against the other teams in the same group.
      • 3 rounds of hacking challenge will played at each group level.
      • A total of 16 matches for every round.
      • All 16 matches will be conducted concurrently
      • 4 challenges will be prepared
      • Challenges will be released one by one either,
        1. Challenge 2 will be released once Challenge 1 is solved by any one of the two team in the match and same goes to Challenge 3 and 4; OR
        2. Challenges released based on judge(s) decision depending on the situation.
      • Each match will last for 30 minutes

      2.1.1 Winning the match at Group Stage

      • Winner will be determined by (sorted by priority)
        1. First team to solve all challenges within the time given; OR
        2. Team that solved most of the challenges end of the time; OR
      • Draw happened if the score between the 2 teams are equal when the time ends.
      • Winner will be given 2 points.
      • Draw will be given 1 point.
      • No point for the loser.
      • Team that solved all challenges in a match will gain 1 strike.
      • Game will be automatically ended once one of the team win by solving all of the 4 challenges. The time taken for the team to win the match will be clocked and added to Total Time in scoreboard.
      • In the event of none of the team manage to solved all 4 challenges before time ends, both team will be added with 45 minutes to their Total Time.
      • Automatic win for opponent to no-show team.

      2.1.2 Group ranking

      • Group rank will be based on the following order/priority
        1. Most points – awarded by win or draw
        2. Most strike – awarded by completed all challenges in a match
        3. Most solved – awarded based on total solved challenges
        4. Least Total Time – counted based on time to complete/win/draw the match

      2.2 Semi-Final Stage

      • Team at 1st and 2nd rank from each of the group level will move on into the Semi-Final stage
      • Semi-Final stage is a knockout round.
      • Total of 16 teams with 8 matches
      • All 8 matches will be conducted at the same time
      • Each round will take 45 minutes.
      • 4 challenges will be prepared
      • Challenges will be released one by one either
        1. Challenge 2 will be released once Challenge 1 is solved by any one of the two team in the match and same goes to Challenge 3 and 4; OR
        2. Challenges released based on judge(s) decision depending on the situation.

      2.2.1 Winning the match at Semi-Final stage

      • Winner will be determined by (sorted by priority)
        1. First team to solved all challenges within the time; OR
        2. Team that solved most challenges when the time ends; OR
        3. The first time to gain the score as this mean they are earlier to solve. (eg: in case of score is 2-2, the first team to gain score of 2 will be winner)
      • Winner of this round will be able to compete on the next stage.
      • Game will automatically ended once one of the team win by solving all challenges.
      • Automatic win for opponent to no-show team

      2.3 Final Stage

      • Winner from Semi-Final Stage will be able to play on semi-final
      • Final Stage will be a knockout round.
      • Total of 8 teams
      • Duration of Final stage is 3 hours
      • Minimum of 8 challenges need to be solved.
      • Challenges will be released one by one either
        1. Challenge 2 released once challenge 1 is solved by any one of the two team in the match and same goes to challenge 3 and 4; OR
        2. Whenever judges want to release the challenge
      • Game will be played for full duration of 3 hours even all of the challenges are solved.

      2.3.1 Winning the competition

      • Each challenge will have a different points (ranging from 100-500).
      • Winner will be the team that have a higher total points score (including bonus point)
      • In case of the final point is draw, winner will be determined based on the following (order by priority)
        1. First team to solved all challenges within the time (not including Bonus challenge); OR
        2. Team that solved most challenges when the time ends (not including Bonus challenge); OR
        3. Recent submission time – earlier will be winner
